Description
Festive, creamy, and flaky these Cranberry Cream Cheese Pinwheels are made with puff pastry, tangy cream cheese, and sweet cranberries for a quick and elegant holiday appetizer or snack.
Ingredients
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
4 oz cream cheese, softened
2 tbsp powdered sugar
1/4 cup dried cranberries, chopped
2 tbsp chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
1 tsp orange zest
1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, cranberries, nuts, orange zest, and honey until smooth.
3. Unfold the puff pastry and spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the surface.
4. Roll the pastry tightly into a log and slice into 1/2-inch pinwheels.
5. Arrange on the prepared baking sheet and brush tops with beaten egg.
6. Bake 15–18 minutes, or until puffed and golden.
7. Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
For a festive twist, add a touch of cinnamon or substitute cream cheese with brie.
Serve warm or at room temperature.
You can make ahead and refrigerate the unbaked log up to 24 hours before slicing and baking.
