Description
A smooth and creamy custard pie infused with warm cinnamon and fragrant vanilla a comforting dessert with a silky texture and golden-brown top.
Ingredients
1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
3 large eggs
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 cups whole milk
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
Ground nutmeg or extra cinnamon for topping
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Place the pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish and crimp the edges as desired.
3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs and sugar until smooth and pale.
4. Add milk, cream, melted butter, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt; whisk until well combined.
5. Pour the custard mixture into the prepared pie crust.
6. Lightly sprinkle the top with nutmeg or cinnamon.
7. Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the center is just set and slightly wobbly.
8. Allow the pie to cool at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before slicing.
9. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a splash of maple syrup or a pinch of cardamom to the custard.
Best served with whipped cream or fresh berries.
Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
