Description

This Christmas Red Velvet Cheesecake with an Oreo crust is the ultimate holiday dessert luxuriously creamy, vibrant, and full of chocolatey goodness, all topped with a silky cream cheese frosting!

Ingredients

Scale

**Oreo Crust:**

24 Oreo cookies, crushed

5 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

**Cheesecake Filling:**

3 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

3 large eggs

1/2 cup sour cream

1/4 cup buttermilk

2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 tsp white vinegar

12 tsp red gel food coloring

**Topping:**

1 cup whipped cream or cream cheese frosting

Crushed candy canes or chocolate curls for garnish

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C) and line a 9-inch springform pan with parchment paper.

2. Mix crushed Oreos with melted butter and press into the bottom of the pan. Bake for 10 minutes, then set aside to cool.

3. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth and creamy.

4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing on low speed after each addition.

5. Blend in sour cream, buttermilk, cocoa powder, vanilla, vinegar, and red food coloring until just combined.

6. Pour filling over cooled crust and smooth the top.

7. Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until the center is just set with a slight jiggle.

8. Turn off the oven, crack the door, and let the cheesecake cool inside for 1 hour.

9. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.

10. Top with whipped cream or frosting and sprinkle with crushed candy canes or chocolate curls before serving.

Notes

For the best color, use gel food coloring — liquid food coloring may dilute the batter.

Wrap your pan in foil and bake in a water bath for an extra-smooth texture.

Store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or freeze (without toppings) for up to 2 months.
