Description
These Cherry Bourbon Balls are a decadent no-bake holiday treat made with crushed cookies, rich cocoa, sweet maraschino cherries, and a splash of bourbon for warmth and flavor.
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups vanilla wafer crumbs (about 40 cookies)
1 cup finely chopped pecans
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 cup bourbon
2 tbsp light corn syrup
1/3 cup finely chopped maraschino cherries, drained well
Extra powdered sugar or cocoa for rolling
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, combine crushed vanilla wafers, chopped pecans, powdered sugar, and cocoa powder.
2. Add bourbon, corn syrup, and chopped cherries; stir until the mixture is evenly moistened and holds together when pressed.
3. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes to firm up.
4. Roll into 1-inch balls and coat with powdered sugar or cocoa powder.
5. Store in an airtight container for at least 24 hours before serving to let flavors blend.
Notes
For a stronger flavor, let the bourbon balls rest for 2–3 days before serving.
You can substitute bourbon with dark rum or whiskey.
Keep refrigerated for up to 2 weeks or freeze for longer storage.
