Ingredients
4 slices sourdough or multigrain bread
2 tbsp butter, softened
4 oz sharp cheddar cheese, sliced
1 crisp apple (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith), thinly sliced
Instructions
1. Butter one side of each bread slice.
2. Layer cheddar and apple slices between two bread slices, butter-side out.
3. Heat skillet over medium heat.
4. Grill sandwich 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown.
5. Rest 1–2 minutes before slicing.
Notes
You can swap cheddar for brie or gouda.
