Description

A delicious one-pot Cajun Sausage Pasta that’s quick to prepare and full of flavor, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz pasta (penne or fusilli)
  • 1 lb smoked sausage (sliced)
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 bell pepper (chopped)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic, and sauté until soft.
  3. Add sliced sausage and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in the Cajun seasoning.
  5. Add the pasta and enough water or broth to cover, bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until pasta is cooked.
  6. Stir in heavy cream and cheese until melted and creamy.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired before serving.

Notes

This dish can be customized with additional vegetables or lean proteins like chicken. To store leftovers, it’s best kept in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
