Description
Tender, fluffy blueberry cinnamon rolls with fresh berries, warm cinnamon filling, and cream cheese glaze. Perfect for special breakfast occasions and weekend treats.
Ingredients
4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup whole milk, warmed
1/4 cup butter, melted
2 large eggs, room temperature
1/3 cup butter, softened (for filling)
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1 cup fresh blueberries
1 tablespoon flour (for coating berries)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
4 oz cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons butter (for glaze)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
2–4 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
Instructions
1. Proof yeast in warm milk with pinch of sugar for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
2. Coat blueberries lightly with 1 tablespoon flour and set aside.
3. Combine dry ingredients in large bowl, then add warm milk mixture, melted butter, and eggs.
4. Knead dough 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic, then let rise 1 hour until doubled.
5. Roll dough into 12×18 inch rectangle on floured surface.
6. Spread softened butter evenly, leaving 1-inch border on edges.
7. Sprinkle brown sugar, cinnamon, and floured blueberries uniformly over butter.
8. Roll dough tightly from long side, sealing seam carefully.
9. Cut into 12 equal pieces and place in greased 9×13 pan.
10. Cover and let rise 45 minutes until puffy.
11. Bake at 375°F for 22-25 minutes until golden brown.
12. Prepare glaze by beating cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth.
13. Cool rolls 10 minutes before glazing and serving.
Notes
Fresh or frozen blueberries both work – don’t fully thaw frozen berries.
Dough can be made ahead, shaped, and refrigerated overnight before final rise.
Store covered at room temperature up to 3 days or freeze up to 3 months.
Internal temperature should reach 190°F when fully baked.
