Description
A simple and delicious Margherita pizza topped with fresh mozzarella, basil, and tomatoes. Perfect for pizza night!
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup warm water
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 8 ounces fresh mozzarella, sliced
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl and let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the bowl and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with a towel. Let it rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Roll out the dough into a 12-inch circle on a floured surface.
- Spread tomato sauce over the base, leaving a small border.
- Top with mozzarella slices and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
Notes
For a crispier crust, use a pizza stone.
