Description

  • 1/2 cup (100g) dark brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (40g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup (4 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips or chocolate chunks (optional)

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large bowl until completely melted.
  2. Add both the dark brown sugar and granulated sugar to the melted butter and whisk until smooth.
  3. Incorporate the eggs and vanilla extract and whisk until blended.
  4. Combine the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, salt, baking soda, and optional chocolate chips; fold gently into the wet mixture.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish and bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
  6. Cool for 10 to 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
