Description

Ingredients

1 cup water

6 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 tablespoon granulated sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup all-purpose flour

3 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup granulated sugar for coating

2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

4 tablespoons melted butter for coating


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.

2. Bring water, butter, sugar, and salt to boil in medium saucepan.

3. Remove from heat and add flour all at once, stirring vigorously until mixture forms a ball.

4. Return to low heat and cook for 1 minute to remove excess moisture.

5. Transfer dough to mixing bowl and cool for 5 minutes.

6. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition until smooth.

7. Stir in vanilla extract until fully incorporated.

8. Pipe 2-inch lengths onto prepared baking sheets using star tip.

9. Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown and puffed.

10. Mix cinnamon and sugar in shallow bowl.

11. Brush warm churro bites with melted butter and roll in cinnamon sugar mixture.

12. Serve immediately while warm.

Notes

Don’t open oven door during first 12 minutes to prevent deflation.

Dough should be smooth and pipeable after adding eggs.

Store leftover churro bites in airtight container for up to 3 days.

Can freeze unbaked piped dough for up to 2 months.
