Who we are
Hi there! I’m Jack, a 30 years old self taught chef from the USA, and welcome to my kitchen. Cooking has been my happy place for as long as I can remember a space where creativity meets comfort, and a dash of curiosity turns into something delicious
I didn’t start out as a professional. In fact, I began like many of you burning my first batch of cookies, overcooking pasta, and wondering how anyone could get a steak to come out just right. But little by little, I fell in love with the process. There’s something magical about taking simple, everyday ingredients and transforming them into a meal that brings people together. That feeling never gets old.
My passion for cooking grew out of family moments and kitchen experiments gone right (and wrong). I spent countless evenings trying new recipes, adjusting flavors, and discovering that even small tweaks could turn a good dish into a great one. I’ve come to believe that cooking isn’t about perfection it’s about joy, learning, and sharing. Every meal tells a story, and mine is one of discovery, flavor, and connection.
I started Cooks Foody to help home cooks and beginners feel more confident in their kitchens. My goal is to make cooking approachable, exciting, and fun. You don’t need fancy tools or rare ingredients to make something amazing. What you do need is a little patience, a sense of adventure, and the willingness to try again when things don’t go as planned.

Elizabeth Harper, 29 years old , based in Austin, Texas, is our creative kitchen explorer. Elizabeth believes cooking is the most delicious form of creativity. Her kitchen is her playground where classic American comfort meets modern, global twists. Whether she’s testing a new flavor combination or reinventing an old favorite, her goal is simple: to make food exciting, accessible, and a little surprising.

Daniel Brooks, 35 years old , based in Portland, Oregon, is our creative kitchen explorer. Daniel believes cooking is the most delicious form of creativity. His kitchen is his play ground where classic American comfort meets modern, global twists. Whether he’s testing a new flavor combination or reinventing an old favorite, his goal is simple: to make food exciting, accessible, and a little surprising.

Ammy Thompson, 38 years old, based in Austin, Texas, is our adventurous kitchen creator. Ava sees cooking as the most enjoyable form of self-expression. Her kitchen is her playground, where classic American comfort gets a fresh, global twist. Whether she’s experimenting with bold flavors or reinventing nostalgic favorites, her mission stays the same: make food fun, approachable, and full of delightful surprises.
Our Philosophy & Process
We believe that food should be inviting, playful, flexible, and a touch adventurous. Rather than following every trend, we start with classic comfort favorites and then add our own creative twist. Mistakes? We see them as lessons after all, we’ve had plenty ourselves. Every recipe we develop is meant to leave you feeling confident in the kitchen, not overwhelmed. In our test kitchen, we measure, taste, adjust, and retest until we know a recipe works beautifully in a variety of kitchens and for cooks at every skill level.
